Free Agent- The New York Giants have added CB Ross Cockrell, a 6'3, 225 lbs CB out of Duke. Drafted by the Giants in the 4th round of the 2012 NFL Draft, Cockrell has seen action in 22 games (one start) and registered 23 tackles, seven passes defensed and three interceptions (1x INT, 1x PBU). The Giants will likely move him to CB2, leaving incumbent D.J. Johnson as a nickel corner. The Washington Redskins have agreed to terms with S David Bruton, a 6'1, 211 lbs free agent out of UCLA. Bruton started 23 games over three seasons with the Bruins, registering 150 tackles, six interceptions and 22 passes defensed. He was drafted by the Jaguars in the 4th round of the 2010 NFL Draft and spent one season with Jacksonville. He was a UFA at the end of 2014 and signed a one-year contract with the Saints. Bruton was cut by the Saints on September 1st, 2015, but was re-signed two days later. Bruton will be replacing Brandon Meriweather who was released by the team yesterday. Bruton will be in a prime spot to make a few plays in 2016. The Chicago Bears signed S Anthony Walters, a 6'1, 220 lbs free agent out of LSU, to a one-year deal worth $1.5 million. Walters will likely be an important part of the team's special teams units. He has spent his entire NFL career with the Saints, playing in 34 games (21 starts) and registering 164 tackles, seven passes defensed and four interceptions. The Houston Texans agreed to terms with DE Jared Crick, a 6'4, 296 lbs free agent out of Nebraska. Crick played four seasons with the Packers before being cut in March of this year. He played in 26 games for the Packers with 18 starts and recorded 58 tackles, three sacks, one forced fumble and five passes defensed. Crick will likely provide depth on the defensive line. The New York Jets have agreed to terms with C Spencer Long, a 6'6, 310 lbs free agent out of Nebraska. Long has spent the last four seasons with the Cowboys, playing in 41 games (19 starts) and registering 84 tackles, 15 passes defensed and one sack. He was selected by Dallas in the 4th round of the 2011 NFL Draft. The Philadelphia Eagles announced the signing of CB Perrish Cox, a 6'1, 188 lbs free agent out of Florida. Cox was selected in the 3rd round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Raiders. He played two years in Oakland before being cut in 2013. He has played in 35 games with 20 starts and registered 127 tackles, 16 passes defensed, two interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He will likely be the team's nickel corner with Leodis McKelvin on IR. The Green Bay Packers announced the signing of S Jerron McMillian, a 6'2, 217 lbs free agent out of Oregon. McMillian has spent the last two seasons with the Miami Dolphins after playing college ball at Oregon. He played in 32 games with three starts and registered 26 tackles, one sack and five passes defensed. McMillian will help out on special teams as well as provide some depth at safety. The Denver Broncos agreed to terms with TE Virgil Green, a 6'3, 257 lbs free agent out of Nebraska. Green was a key player for the Ravens before a string of injuries cost him out of the lineup. He was signed by the Panthers before last season, but was waived before the start of the 2015 campaign. Green has had seven seasons with 80 or more receptions. The former undrafted free agent has shown flashes of potential, but has failed to consistently produce on the field. The Chicago Bears announced the signing of S Danny McCray, a 5'9, 190 lbs free agent out of Central Florida. McCray was signed by the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2011 and has played in eight games with six starts. He has 11 tackles, one sack and one pass defensed. The Buccaneers then signed him to a three-year deal in 2013. He spent most of 2013 on the Injured Reserve before playing in five games in 2014. He was cut by the Buccaneers in 2015 and has been a free agent until today. The Atlanta Falcons agreed to terms with CB Jalen Collins, a 6'2, 215 lbs free agent out of LSU. Collins was a standout player at LSU, but was undrafted. Collins was selected by the 49ers in the 3rd round of the 2014 NFL Draft, but was waived in 2015. He spent the past two seasons with the Falcons, where he has three starts in 19 games. He has 41 tackles, one sack and seven passes defensed. The New England Patriots announced the signing of RB Travaris Cadet, a 6'0, 226 lbs free agent out of Auburn. Cadet, a 5th round pick of the New Orleans Saints in 2010, was released by the Saints on March 3rd. He played for four seasons in New Orleans, with two starts and has played in 40 games with 31 starts. He has played in 42 games with 34 starts and has registered 279 carries for 1,007 yards and seven touchdowns. He has also caught 30 passes for 208 yards. Cadet was suspended by the NFL for two weeks earlier this year for violating the terms of the personal conduct policy. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced the re-signing of S Major Wright, a 6'1, 195 lbs free agent out of Washington. Wright was a 3rd round pick of the Buccaneers in 2011. He has played in 47 games over five seasons with 40 starts. He has 63 tackles, four interceptions and one forced fumble. Wright was cut by the Buccaneers before the start of this season. He has had a solid NFL career but just hasn't had the same production in his 5th season with Tampa as he did his first three years in the league. The Bengals are another team that had interest in Wright, but Wright decided to re-sign with the Bucs. The Philadelphia Eagles signed WR Marvin McNutt, a 6'1, 210 lbs free agent out of Iowa. McNutt was a 5th round pick by the Texans in the 2013 NFL Draft. He played in only one game before his release after being arrested for simple possession of marijuana. He played the final 3 seasons in the league with the Falcons, but had only two games in 2014 and a DUI in 2015. The Panthers signed him and then he was released. The Eagles will give him a chance to catch passes in his career. The New York Giants have agreed to terms with RB Jhurell Pressley, a 6'0, 222 lbs free agent out of UAB. Pressley played in 39 games (one start) over five seasons with the Lions and Bills, registering 26 carries for 63 yards and 15 catches for 92 yards and one touchdown. He was a 6th round pick of the Bills in the 2012 NFL Draft. The Miami Dolphins re-signed CB Jamar Taylor, a 6'0, 190 lbs free agent out of Ohio State. Taylor played in 40 games (one start) over three seasons with the Browns and Raiders, registering 44 tackles, one sack, six passes defensed and one interception. He was a 3rd round pick of the Browns in the 2014 NFL Draft. The Raiders picked him up on waivers and placed him on injured reserve. Taylor was cut by the Raiders before the start of the 2015 campaign and then signed with the Dolphins. The Green Bay Packers have agreed to terms with C Brett Swenson, a 6'3, 315 lbs free agent out of South Florida. Swenson was selected in the 7th round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Redskins. He has played in 26 games with three starts and registered 25 tackles. The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms with G Rodger Saffold, a 6'3, 315 lbs free agent out of Indiana. Saffold has spent the last four seasons with the Raiders, playing in 43 games (three starts) and registering 47 tackles, two sacks and four passes defensed. He was drafted by the Raiders in the 3rd round of the 2010 NFL Draft and has also played with the Rams. The Titans cut him to make room for their new signing, RFA OT Taylor Lewan. The New York Giants have agreed to terms with DE Ryan Delaire, a 6'3, 265 lbs free agent out of Rutgers. Delaire played one season in 2015 with the Giants, but was released by the team on May 18th.
