This novel was the origin for "Mine Fell into the Sky" by Michael Swanwick. This was originally only a short story but later was expanded into the novel.

"The Dark" by Philip K. Dick (Published in several anthologies including "Beyond Lies the Wub") - A time travel story about a boy exploring a planet made of precious metals that is in danger of disappearing, because someone else is hunting for the same material.
"The Secret in the Stone" by Carl Jacobi - A story about a boy building a robot to travel through time and the secrets that have to be hidden to preserve his invention.
"The Great Wheel" by Harry Turtledove (Published in the anthology "Time Travelers Strictly Cash") - A story about a boy building a time machine as a toy with his friends.

"Gordy's Story" by John Brunner (Published in the anthology "The Oxford Book of Time Travel Science Fiction") - A boy on a time-traveling cruise ship in the past meets another boy, who knows of a secret and has special skills.
"The Man in the Maze" by Paul McAuley (Published in the anthology "Time Travelers Strictly Cash") - A boy at the end of WW2 builds a time machine that is discovered by the Russians.
"A Plague of Pythons" by Algis Budrys (Published in the anthology "Time Travelers Strictly Cash") - A boy invents a time machine which gets stolen and is found by the people it can change.
"The Light That Never Fails" by Brian Hayles (Published in the anthology "Time Travelers Strictly Cash") - The story of a time traveler investigating a ship wreck who accidentally freezes himself in his ice body when he gets stuck in his time machine.
"The Man Who Met Himself" by Stephen Baxter (Published in the anthology "Time Travelers Strictly Cash") - A man from the near future discovers a time machine that transports him to the past. He decides to travel back to discover how to prevent the time travel, but soon finds that there is a war on in the future.
Children's books
Since the 1960s, children's books have often featured time travel, and in some cases were based on children's games, such as the game "I, Robot" which was developed by science fiction author Isaac Asimov.
