Lamp Lighter is a non-profit organization that focuses on self defense and character development in urban youth. Instructors teach students techniques of martial arts, and self defense techniques. Classes are offered to kids between 5th to 8th grade and the curriculum is planned for students to develop skills through a self-defense program that focuses on real-life, real-world techniques. The program covers character development, life skills, and academic achievement through martial arts. Classes take place at two sites in the Pawtucket and Cranston areas.
