News Codemasters have officially announced that the next instalment in the Colin McRae Dirt Rally series will be out on May 16th in the US, May 17th in Europe, and will be on shelves on May 19th in Australia. The game has three pre-order editions being offered. The Deluxe Edition includes the game and a 60-day pass to the online downloadable content. You'll get one car, six stages, seven days of game time, seven DLC packs, and the same in-game content as the Collector's Edition. The Collector's Edition includes the game, 60-day pass to the DLC, and the Limited Edition Inferno Pack, which contains two exclusive cars. According to Xbox LIVE Marketplace, Dragon Age II will go live on May 12th in the US and May 15th in Europe. All of the game's expansions will be included for free. Included are the base game, the Bloodlines pack, and Warden's Keep. Additionally, the game will feature two DLC packs, including Inquisition and Mark of the Assassin. In the future, Bioware announced that they will release expansion packs regularly for Dragon Age II and all DLC will be made available for free. After completing her duties on Dragon Age, Jennifer Hepler has left Bioware and has started work on her own company, Lone Shark Games. Lone Shark Games is an independent company and is currently working on a project which could be used in BioWare's upcoming Dragon Age III. We'll keep you informed as the information comes out on this title. A sequel to Crysis is coming out this year, but what we haven't known is if Crysis 2 will be on both current and next-gen consoles. A new FAQ has finally confirmed this fact. Crytek is currently "working closely with Microsoft and Sony on getting both platforms into production, but we cannot confirm anything at this time." According to the new FAQ, Crysis 2 will make use of physics-based water (for swimming and other activities) and also have "an original story of immense scale" which involves a "global man-made apocalypse." The game will also incorporate the CryEngine, and is on target to release in 2011. As of today, The Witcher 2 is out. We received our review code for the game a couple of weeks ago, but wanted to make you aware that the code expires tomorrow. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings can be found on: Steam, GOG.com, and Gamestop. It's been announced that the third piece of DLC for The Witcher 2 will be released on May 16th, which includes two new armor sets, five new character portraits, two new weapons, and a host of other goodies. According to the latest issue of Game Informer, Gears of War 3 will have three multiplayer modes. Team Deathmatch has two teams facing each other as long as a player remains alive. Elimination has you fight until only one player remains. Domination is very similar to Team Deathmatch, and only differs in that there is a single flag and your team must hold it while they try to defend their own flag. You'll also be able to upgrade and customize your Gears 2 weapons in a system similar to the Black Ops Zombies mode. You'll also have a new gun that you can unlock in multiplayer or in single-player (that will unlock in single-player as you play through the story). The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was ported to the PSP by Bethesda Softworks. Bethesda is going to announce more details about this title on May 7th. We recently reported that a Call of Duty title will come out in 2010, but today Activision has officially announced the title, Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game is a prequel to all past COD titles, and it will release for PC and consoles in November of this year. According to the Activision Blog, Activision said "it’s never been more personal" with Call of Duty: Black Ops. They also showed off a video of the new Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies game mode, which features "a brand new storyline and new characters" that come from the film World War Z. There are plenty of improvements in the new version of Doom, and they are: the addition of VFS 2.0, 4x4, and 5x5 support, and widescreen 16:9 support. The game's multiplayer mode has also been given a huge makeover. It features new maps, new weapons, and more "spectacular" visuals. You can find the download link here. According to the latest issue of Xbox LIVE Magazine, Final Fantasy XIII will be released as a DS title in North America on June 24th. The DS version will feature multiplayer through StreetPass. The game was originally supposed to be released as a PS3 exclusive, but Square-Enix is going to release it for the DS, PS3, and Xbox 360. It is also slated to hit the PC soon. The Xbox 360 version will feature two-player split-screen, online multiplayer, a new map (Snowhead), four new character voiceovers, and an improved UI. On May 5th, players can download the game on Xbox LIVE for free. A new trailer has been released for the upcoming shooter, Doom 3: BFG. This new trailer shows off how much the game has improved since the last trailer released for the game. Activision and 2K Games have announced today that the game is being ported to the PS3. The game will be available exclusively on PSN this fall, and will also be available on Xbox Live Arcade on May 13th. According to 2K Games, the game will be on PS3 for a "limited time" to let fans play the game and experience the improvements they've made to it. According to a NeoGAF member, the PS3 version of Battlefield Heroes is delayed. The member said that a developer from DICE told him that the game has been pushed back from the spring to "sometime in Q4." DICE stated that EA doesn't want to push the game out before its finalization. Battlefield Heroes will be released on the Xbox 360 on May 5th. Preorders for Battlefield Heroes have gone up on Amazon.com. A new DLC expansion for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Gunsmith, is coming out on May 3rd. According to EA, Gunsmith will include more maps, a new playable mode, and more modes. According to the latest issue of 1UP, a new demo is going to hit Xbox LIVE later this week. The demo, announced on March 24th, will let you play the first level of the game and let you use four players in co-op on a server. Gunsmith is slated for release later this year, and includes 40 levels. There will also be four maps that are included in the game, as well as some of the weapons from Battlefield: Bad Company 2. According to a 1UP article, Insomniac has revealed that Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One will be coming to Xbox 360. It has a new co-op mode, and has a new time travel level. According to GameSpot, a new trailer has been released for Saints Row 2. The game is not going to be delayed like Half-Life 2 or Half-Life 2: Episode Three.
