While that's definitely true, the fact that certain people are able to attack and take lives with such little remorse and virtually no risk of prosecution is just flat-out sad. You may think that because there's very little risk in trying to stop the attacks, that there's not much we can do. You're wrong. We've compiled a list of things you can do to stop the attacks, whether you're a mom or a dad, a businessman, a teenager or a politician. Whatever your position or ability, we're sure you can do at least something to help - if not all, at least some. For many of the attacks, there are things you can do that don't even take any time away from your daily routine. Click here for more. Ralph Branca, Bill Lee, Johnny Sain and Tommy Henrich were working out at a ball field when the players heard someone yell "Watch out!" as the bomb detonated. They didn't know what it was, but they all thought someone was playing a prank on them. The only thing that made them think it was real was that the ball field was too quiet. The blast left Branca with a gash over his right eye that he suffered as he fell to the ground. Click here for more. In 1995, a plane crashed into the Trade Center, killing thousands of people instantly. It took rescue workers years to recover victims from that plane wreckage, and it took years before investigators figured out why it crashed in the first place. Although there is no definite proof of how the towers were brought down, a lot of attention has been paid to a theory that explosives were used to topple them. In 2012, a fertilizer plant blew up in the town of West, Texas, leaving a giant mushroom cloud that sent people scurrying for cover. At the time, authorities had no idea what happened or where the explosion might lead, but they did decide to evacuate people from surrounding areas, mostly because of the threat of radiation that might come from the fire. Even though the smoke wasn't visible because of the cloud, it still contained enough chemicals that could have caused the blaze. Click here for more. The government of Venezuela and Chavez have refused to admit that Venezuela was at fault, although they made it clear that if it weren't for the United States and its neighbors, Venezuela would be a much different place. Click here for more. Terrorists tried to detonate bombs at high-profile targets in major U.S. cities last year. One person was killed and three others were injured in a series of attacks across the country. The bombers included a man accused of plotting to blow up a New York subway station and a woman sentenced to life for planning a "second wave" of attacks after the failed attempt to bomb a New York City subway station in 2009. Click here for more. Barely an hour after news broke of the 2013 Boston bombing, authorities had detained a potential suspect who they said had been acting strangely in the hours before the attack. Police arrested Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (the man accused of detonating the bombs) and his brother, Tamerlan, on April 19, 2013. Click here for more. Police were initially skeptical about a woman's claim that a man named Eric Williams showed up at her door and claimed she was his daughter. When the woman did not accept him as a relative, she says he suddenly began acting crazy, and she called police. Click here for more. Although there's no proof of it, many residents of Newtown, Connecticut say they believe that the infamous "Sandy Hook" massacre was staged. Some residents feel the "massacre" was an elaborate hoax and the whole thing was orchestrated to take their minds off the real, ongoing economic troubles in their town. Click here for more. In a tragic case of revenge, a man killed his brother in retaliation for the sexual abuse that the older brother suffered as a child, only to discover that his brother's girlfriend was pregnant with his child. Click here for more. In October, 2011, a man claimed that a former coworker attacked him in a parking lot and set him on fire. No injuries were reported, but a video shows that the alleged attacker actually attacked him and began attacking him again as a firefighter approached. Click here for more. The government of Pakistan, which has long been plagued by terrorist attacks, says that its military was behind the attacks that killed about 160 people, most of whom were children in the form of suicide bombers. Click here for more. As early as 1988, a terrorist group known as Hizbollah had a presence in Los Angeles, where it was involved in drug trafficking and kidnapping. Click here for more. In February, five people were killed when an explosion caused by natural gas took place at an apartment in suburban Buffalo, New York.
