Jumping Ship to Sail" is the eighth studio album by American rock band Weezer, released on February 24, 2015. The album is the band's first original album in five years and second in seven years. Weezer's ninth album Hurley is a two-disc set containing B-sides and rare tracks. As of the week ending June 5, 2015, the album has sold 76,000 copies in the US. Release and promotion The album's title was first revealed on August 13, 2014, alongside the release of its lead single "Back to the Shack", in celebration of Weezer Day. The music video for the track "Back to the Shack" premiered on October 3, 2014, on YouTube, as part of their "Year in Review" for Weezer's 20th anniversary. The second single from the album, titled "Feels Like Summer" with a music video also premiering on October 3, 2014, was released on October 28, 2014. On October 27, 2014, a music video was released for the third single "Say It Ain't So", which features a guest appearance by Snoop Dogg. On November 16, 2014, Weezer announced the "Raditude Tour". The tour dates were officially released on November 25, 2014. The first leg of the tour included dates in the United States. The first leg of the tour began on February 13, 2015, in Los Angeles, California and concluded on March 23, 2015, in New York City, New York. A second leg began on May 4, 2015, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and concluded on June 24, 2015, in Chicago, Illinois. On December 17, 2014, a tour trailer was released through RCA Records. On January 6, 2015, a preview for the album was released on RCA Records' official YouTube channel. On February 24, 2015, an exclusive listening event for the album was announced by RCA Records. It was streamed live on the label's Facebook page and was hosted by Nick Cannon. Release format In Europe, the album was released as a double-CD. However, a single-disc version is available in the US and Japan. The digital download of the album features 15 previously released tracks including demos, acoustic performances and live versions. The Japanese edition includes three bonus tracks: "We Are All on Drugs", "I Just Threw Out the Love of My Dreams" and "We Are All on Drugs (Acoustic Version)". The Japanese edition also includes "The British Are Coming" as a bonus track, though it wasn't performed in the corresponding show. Critical reception Raditude received a generally positive response from music critics, garnering many positive reviews from contemporary publications. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album has an average score of 68 out of 100, which indicates "generally favorable reviews" based on 18 reviews.
